5 Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Professional House Cleaner
A long time ago people thought that only wealthy people could afford to hire a cleaning service. But during the past years hiring a house cleaner is more a necessity than a luxury since our lives are getting busier and busier and it becomes crucial for living and working in sanitary and virus-free spaces. Whether you’re running a home or a business, you may figure that in a pandemic, a cleaning crew sanitizing everywhere for COVID-19 might be a swell idea provided, of course, that the cleaning crew doesn’t bring the virus in with them.
As you search for cleaning services you will find pages and pages on the internet and there’s a lot to think about and a lot of cleaning services to choose from and very competitive. You start by talking to friends, families, and coworkers, neighbors in order to get referrals and more information about this. Look on Better Business Bureau, Google, Next-door, and even Facebook to find cleaning services in your area with good reviews. Once you’ve narrowed it down to a few, there are some important questions to ask to make sure you’re hiring the best company for the job. Let's find out what you need to ask...
1- How much the service will cost and the options?
If you’re like most people, this question is No. 1 at the top of your list and maybe for your the more important one. When considering the cost, don’t just think about the cost. You should also have a clear understanding of what you’re getting for your money. According to Home Advisors, maid services generally run, on average, $100 to $300 for a 90-minute to three-hour cleaning.
Let’s say you hire a cleaning service, and the agreement is that they’ll come to your home for two hours be-weekly, and for that service, you’ll pay $250. But then one day, the cleaning crew finishes earlier, and you said hum, “I paid $250 to have my home cleaned in one hour? when the cleaners should have been there for two hours? Did I was ripped off?” But were you really? You probably made out fine if there was a two, or three-person cleaning crew that day, or even better, if four people came in what really matters is that they do the work they came to do and well done.
In other words, it’s helpful for you not to get too hung up on the time or money equation.
Sure, you want to pay some attention to that, but if the cleaning crew is cleaning what you’ve agreed, that’s what matters. You don’t want to punish a cleaning business because they’re figured out how to clean a room faster than you anticipated. On another hand also can happen that the house it's so dirty that the crew instead of being there for two hours had to be there for three or four hours in order to finish what was agreed to clean (and believes me happen, this really happen) and are you going to be charged extra? Are you are going to be willing to pay extra? No, right because you already have an agreement on what you want to be clean and in our case, we are not leaving until we finished what was agreed to clean. But that's just us My Sparkle Maid. So it's better to focus on the results and not on the time.
Generally, it costs more for a cleaning service to do a one-time cleaning than for regular cleanings. The more you bring to the table, the less the costs of a cleaning service. That’s because it’s always easier to clean a room that was cleaned a week or two earlier than a room that hasn’t seen a broom in months.
2- What they will be cleaning? What is included in the cleaning service?
This is something you need to think about ahead of time and clearly communicate to the cleaning company when you hire them. At the same time, you can't make assumptions. For example, some cleaning services won't clean inside cabinets or do windows, especially the outsides of windows, so don't assume most of these add-ons have extra charges but My Sparkle Maid do offer them among other add-ons. (We do inside window cleaning). We also have the 2 X 2 and 2 X 4 and in these services, you tell us exactly what you want us to do and this can also include decluttering, folding, and hanging cloth. You paid for 2 or 4-hour service we sent you 2 maids to help you out with whatever you need. Check the link below...

3- Do you have Insurance and Liability? What about workers compensation insurance?
Ask about the cleaning service's liability and workers' compensation insurance. If you decide to hire a well-known franchised cleaning service, it should have both types of coverage.
If it's a smaller operation or somebody who cleans homes or businesses on their own, you definitely want to ask about insurance. You shouldn’t hesitate to ask to see proof of insurance if you have any doubts.
The question of insurance doesn't stop there, however. Will your homeowners insurance protect you if a cleaning person gets injured on your property? If you have pets, stairs, high places to clean, or any number of normal household scenarios, it's a question worth looking into. Since a cleaning company will be in your home, you must make sure that they have legitimate insurance and liability policies .
Workers' compensation insurance is one of the most important things the company will need to have. This insurance will keep liability and legality off you if an employee is hurt in your home. The company will take full responsibility for any employee accidents under this policy.
You also need to ensure that the company will take all liability for any damage or accidents from an employee. They will be held accountable for any repairs necessary. And of course, My Sparkle Maid has Liability and Worker's compensation insurance.
4- Do you have references and our reviews?
Cleaning companies usually have an extensive clientele list that they regularly service. That list is full of customers who have various opinions of how well or poorly the company conducted business. Finding references for the company is an excellent opportunity for you to get an overall idea of them. You can see our reviews on google business check the link below...
5- What Services do you offer?
Each cleaning company is different and can offer various services. Always research or ask for a service list to see what they clean.
Some companies specialize in specific areas, meaning you’ll need to check to see if your needs will be met. If your first option has strict service parameters, you may need to go with a different company. Here is Sparkle Maid we have a variety of services and add on to help you fits your needs.
